Convert Existing Vehicles into Optionally-Manned Systems
Micro Systems developed the Multi-Platform Appliqué Kit (M-PAK) as a system that is easily installed and quickly converts legacy fleets of existing human-driven vehicles into unmanned systems. The system is designed to be platform independent and will work in most standard vehicles. It includes a state-of-the-art steering actuator which conveniently installs without having to remove the steering wheel, actuators for braking and acceleration, a transmission controller, Obstacle Avoidance Radar, Speed Sensor, a fully integrated Active Safety System, and a Navigation Module (NavModule) which includes a GPS Receiver, Digital Compass, Radio Transceiver, and System Control Computer. Additionally, M-PAK supports Open Architecture and Interoperability Profiles (IOP) for future expansion and was designed with Industry Standard Interfaces (J1939/CAN, RS-232, and Ethernet) for enhanced sensor fusion supporting GPS Denied environments as well as semi- and fully autonomous operation.
